by the way this is flipping amazing!
So... I was just sitting here when I got this comment...and I thought to myself...'Oh, that's nice. What a nice comment. BUT WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT ICON?' So, out of sheer curiosity, I visit your page, JenL, and discover awesome fanart of this thing called... 'Bravestarr'. I am intrigued by the designs and the fact that it is an 80's 'toon (which I love), so I went and watched the intro on The Youtube.
So, tell me...is it humanly possible for a show to be as awesome as the intro for this series called 'Bravestarr' LOOKS? Because it looks pretty fuckin' bad-ass! And I just might have to hunt me down a bootleg...
Yeah, Bravestarr is a pretty awesome cartoon. One of the best from the 1980s in my opinion. (It was made by Filmation, who also made He-Man and She-Ra.) With things like magic casting outlaws, robotic desperadoes, giant magic cyborg dinosaurs, alien cowboys, and a talking horse. It sounds crazy, but it's so creative and out there that it's tons of fun to watch. My favorite episodes are the ones with Tex Hex and his gang in them. Like "Tex's Terrible Night", "Eye of the Beholder", "Lost Mountain" and "Skuzz and Fuzz". The complete series DVD is super cheap at amazon, or you can watch almost all 65 episodes at YouTube.
And, hell...anything by those who birthed He-Man and She-Ra gets bonus kudos points in my book!
And ho damn did they EVER add a lot of depth to Ice King's character, he went from annoying the crap out of me to being extremely interesting.
PS this piece once again reminds me at how much I suck at watercolor, lol
